Sunapee, N.H. — Rose M. (Mayo) Orlando, 86, of Sunapee, N.H. died peacefully on June 2, surrounded by her family. She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Dec. 20, 1930 and was the daughter of the late Rocco and Josephine (DeNegris) Mayo. She lived in Brooklyn until her marriage to Joseph C. Orlando in 1952 and then moved to Maspeth, N.Y. In 1957, they moved to Floral Park, N.Y., where they raised their three children Robert, Karen, and Richard. They moved to Sunapee, N.H. in 1975 and lived there for 32 years until their move to Bluffton, S.C.

Rose was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Joseph, who died in 2012. She is survived by her son Robert Orlando and his wife Rosemary, daughter Karen Orlando-Place and her husband Douglas, son Richard Orlando and his wife Darlene and grandchildren Ryan, Matthew, Nicholas and Claire. She was the sister of the late Madeline Barrocinni, Lucy Torre, Concetta Veneziano, Philomena Cozzi, and Sam Mayo. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Rose was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. She was an active participant in the Catholic Church for many years. She enjoyed cooking Italian food and one of her greatest joys was entertaining family and friends at lively gatherings. No one ever left the table hungry or without a good laugh. Rose was loved and cherished and will be greatly missed.
