Lebanon, N.H. —
Harold attended school in Lyme and Hanover, N.H., and graduated from Hanover High School. After high school, Harold went into the United States Air Force in 1949; and married Violet Sturtevant in 1950. After traveling with the USAF, he and Violet settled in Lebanon.
Harold was a skilled motorcycle enthusiast, joining the Lebanon Motorcycle Club. In later years, he was an avid snow machine rider and trail groomer for the Lyme Pinnacle Snowmobile Club. Harold worked at Dartmouth College all of his life. He started out as a carpenter and became the college locksmith, retiring in 1994.
Harold was predeceased by his parents, and his wife.
Harold leaves his two sons and their wives, Larry and Paula Stone of Enfield, and Tracy and Marcia Stone of Croydon; grandchildren, Bobbie Lynn (Stone) Dube, Amber Stone, Sabrina (Stone) Lapan, Cory Stone; step-grandchildren, Jeremy Stone and Jennilee Holmes Haber, along with 16 great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to Harold’s calling hours at the Ricker Funeral Home in Lebanon on Wednesday April 26, 2017, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Harold’s graveside service will be held the following day, Thursday, April 27 at 10 a.m. at the Highland Cemetery in Lyme.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the Lyme Pinnacle Snowmobile Club.
