Matt Feinstein drove in three runs in the opener, and Michael Ketchmark had three hits and scored three times in the nightcap as the Big Green (17-11, 7-3 Ivy League) beat Brown (9-16, 3-7 Ivy).
Danielak settled in after loading the bases in the first inning with one out in the opener, inducing a double play to escape the jam. Danielak went the distance in the seven-inning game for his second complete game of the season, surrendering one run on six hits and one walk while striking out four.
Brown ace Christian Taugner was undone in the second inning, when Dartmouth scored four unearned runs to take control of the game. The Big Green’s Michael Calamari started the rally with a single. Nate Ostmo beat out an infield hit and Adam Gauthier walked to load the bases for Trevor Johnson at the top of the order. A throwing by the shortstop allowed both Calamari and Ostmo to score. Matt Feinstein followed with a two-run single to center to give Dartmouth a 4-0 lead. Feinstein then closed the book in the first game with an RBI single in the fourth inning.
O’Connor also found trouble in the first inning of game two as Brown loaded the bases on just four pitches with two singles and a hit batter. Josh Huntley then hit the next pitch for a sacrifice fly and a 1-0 lead for Brown before O’Connor settled down to retire the side.
Dartmouth took the lead for good in the second inning. Michael Ketchmark ripped a double into the gap in left-center to get things started. Calamari walked before Ketchmark scored on a wild pitch. Three successive walks allowed the Big Green to score another and lead, 2-0.
Justin Fowler and Calamari each followed with RBI singles in the third inning to chase Brown starter Reid Anderson. Fowler added an RBI double in the seventh inning.
The two teams will conclude their four-game series today with another doubleheader in Hanover; game one starts at noon.

Brown had scored a go-ahead run to lead, 3-2, in the top of the seventh in the nightcap. With one out in the bottom of the seventh, Alyssa Jorgensen singled to left field for the Big Green. Damore followed with bomb over the fence in left field for her team-leading fifth home run.
Starting pitcher Morgan Ebow pitched six innings in game two to earn the victory, scattering eight hits while giving up two earned runs. Breanna Ethridge pitched a complete game three-hitter in the opener, striking out eight. Ethridge then added an inning of relief to help limit Brown in the second game.
Dartmouth (8-21-1, 7-3 Ivy League) scored four runs in the sixth inning of the first game. Morgan Martinelli had a two-run single followed by runs scoring on a fielder’s choice and an error.
The teams return to the diamond today in Hanover for another doubleheader with first pitch at 12:30 p.m.
Cornell 14, Dartmouth 12
Hanover
Kathryn Giroux had a program-record 13 draw controls for Dartmouth. Cornell led 9-8 at halftime and maintained the lead as the scoring pace slowed after the break. Cara DePippo and Kellen D’Alleva each had two goals for the Big Green. Elizabeth Mastrio, Katie Bourque and Ellie Carson had one goal each. DePippo and Mastrio had two assists each.
Big Green goalie Kiera Vrindten made 14 saves. The visitors held a 37-26 edge in shots while Dartmouth was better on the draw (17-11) and picking up ground balls (18-15).
The Big Green (5-7, 0-5 Ivy League) hosts Albany on Wednesday.
Colby-Sawyer 10, Maine Maritime 8
Castine, Maine
Colby-Sawyer led, 8-3, following a three-goal rally early in the second half. Nicole Lavigne led the hosts with a hat trick and two assists along with a game-high six draw controls. Sierra Schuster and Carli Chiodo each added two goals. Schuster had a team-high four ground balls.
Goalies Meghan Castellano and Kailyn Lapham combined to make 15 saves for the Chargers.
Dartmouth 5, Columbia 2
Ithaca, n.y.
Dartmouth trailed, 2-1, through doubles play with the lone victory coming at No. 1 doubles, a 6-1 win by Taylor Ng and Kristina Mathis. Dartmouth then took the lead with three straight singles victories. Racquel Lyn had a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 5 to tie the score, while senior Jacqueline Crawford won 7-6(5), 6-2 on court two. Mathis had a 6-1, 4-6, 6-2 win at No. 3 position to make it 3-2 in the Big Green’s favor.
Allison McCann won 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 at No. 6 doubles to clinch the victory for Dartmouth. Ng then closed out a comeback 4-6, 7-6 (5), 6-4 victory at No. 1 singles to close the books.
The Big Green close their home schedule next weekend with visits from Penn and Princeton.
Cornell 5, Dartmouth 2
Hanover
Dartmouth led through doubles play on the strength of a pair of 7-6 victories by Max Fliegner and Charlie Broom at No. 2 doubles and Ciro Riccardi and Roko Glasnovic at No. 3.
Broom got the lone singles victory for the Big Green though, a 6-3, 6-4 decision at No. 1 singles. Dartmouth hosts a pair today when it battles Columbia at 1 p.m. and Hofstra at 5 p.m.
Dartmouth Wins Bill Cup

The Big Green won the cup by virtue of their first-place finish in the first varsity race with a time of 5:57.2, finishing a split second ahead of the Eagles (5:57.7). Rutgers followed over 30 seconds later in third (6:28.4). Dartmouth took second in both the second and third varsity in close races. In the second varsity, the Eagles rowed a 6:07.4 to the Big Green’s 6:10.1. BU crossed the line with a time of 6:19.4 in third varsity, just two seconds ahead of Dartmouth (6:21.4).
Dartmouth hosts Brown on Saturday.
Dartmouth at Biglin Bowl

The fourth varsity raced for the first time this season against Harvard. Dartmouth was able to get off the line on pace with the two Crimson crews, but fell behind 500-meters in and ended up finishing third with a time of 6:56.9, finishing behind Harvard’s 4V (6:24.5) and 5V (6:56.9). Harvard’s third varsity crossed the line in 6:28.1, while Dartmouth finished in 6:39.7.
The Dartmouth second varsity was able to make a good push in the last 500 meters and nipped MIT at the line in 6:50.5, finishing just 2/10ths of a second ahead of the Engineers. The Dartmouth first varsity crew was able to keep MIT at bay and finished second with a time of 6:39.9 to the Engineers’ 6:45.2.
Dartmouth visits Yale on Saturday for the Durand Cup.

With a 4-8 mph cross headwind that built through the races, the day began with the racing of the second varsity. Syracuse was first (6:29.6) and was followed by Radcliffe (6:32.2) and Dartmouth (6:55.8). The Big Green first varsity then took third (6:41.7), finishing behind the Orange in first place (6:23.9).
Dartmouth placed third in the varsity four race (7:46.2). The Orange claimed another win in the third varsity, finishing in 6:56.9, while the Big Green were third (7:49.9).
Dartmouth hosts Princeton on Saturday for its only home event of the spring.
Newport 25, Hanover 10
Newport
Lacey McNeel led Newport with a pair of inside-the-park home runs and a triple.
Bella Bardales scored three runs and drove in two for Hanover. Olivia Peterson added two runs scored and an RBI. Daria Gundermann and Hee-Eun Kim each scored a run.
Arabella Meachum-Snyder scored two runs, and Emily LeBlanc scored a run.
Hanover hosts Campbell on Monday.

Oxbow heads to Old Orchard Beach, Maine on Tuesday to play Blue Mountain.
