Manchester — Ryan McBroom hit a two-run double in the first inning, leading the New Hampshire Fisher Cats to an 8-3 win over the Binghamton Rumble Ponies on Sunday for the Cats’ first win of the Eastern League season.

The double by McBroom, part of a four-run inning, gave the Fisher Cats a 2-0 lead before Emilio Guerrero hit a two-run single later in the inning.

The Fisher Cats later added one run in the fourth and sixth innings and two in the seventh to secure the victory.

New Hampshire right-hander Francisco Rios (1-0) picked up the win after allowing one run on four hits over five innings. Opposing starter Corey Oswalt (0-1) took the loss in the Eastern League game after a rough outing in which he allowed five runs and seven hits over four innings.
