Hanover — Nine honorary degrees will be awarded at Dartmouth College’s annual commencement on June 11, where Jake Tapper, a CNN anchor and 1991 graduate, will be the keynote speaker.

The degrees will go to the following people, according to a Wednesday news release:

Anna Deavere Smith, a MacArthur-winning playwright, professor at New York University, and actress on the ABC series Black-ish; Abbey D’Agostino, a 2014 graduate and NCAA champion runner who gained fame for helping up an injured competitor in the 2016 Summer Olympics; Bob King, a 1957 graduate, and his wife, Dottie King, philanthropists who helped fund a program that brings to Dartmouth international scholars focused on ending poverty; Jim Sinegal, co-founder and current director of Costco Wholesale Corp.; Frances Arnold, a professor of chemical engineering, biochemistry, and bioengineering at the California Institute of Technology; C. Fordham von Reyn, a ‘67 alumnus who studies AIDS and tuberculosis and serves as professor and director of DarDar International Programs at the Geisel School of Medicine; and Shaikha Dana Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah, founder of the American University of Kuwait.
