Monique Earle, who has been free for months on personal recognizance bail, has allegedly reunited with, Ryan Ramos, the one-time ex-boyfriend whose new girlfriend was her alleged target.
Contact with Ramos is a violation of Earle’s conditions of release.
According to the motion to revoke bail filed in Sullivan Superior Court by Sullivan County Attorney Marc Hathaway, Earle and Ramos are now engaged.
Hathaway wrote that Earle, who is pregnant, has been informed that continued contact with Ramos could result in consequences, including giving birth to her child in state custody, according to the motion.
“Despite all the potential harm associated … with contact with Mr. Ramos, (Earle) is clearly willing to risk all and do almost anything to maintain a relationship with Mr. Ramos,” Hathaway wrote. “This is a risk factor.”
Earle was scheduled to have a bail hearing on Wednesday, but couldn’t make it to court because her ride canceled due to the weather, according to her public defender, Lauren Breda. She is currently residing at Harbor Homes, a shelter in Nashua, N.H.
Her hearing has been rescheduled for this morning.
Earle was living in a domestic violence shelter in Sullivan County when the alleged murder plot unfolded. Police set up an undercover operation in late November targeting Earle after another woman at the shelter told them about Earle’s alleged plot to have Ramos’ new girlfriend kidnapped, raped, tortured and killed, according to an affidavit.
Earle allegedly offered to give an undercover officer $500 and a designer handbag in exchange for having the woman murdered. Earle said her boyfriend left her for the other woman, who had “ruined her life,” according to the affidavit.
After her November arrest, Earle was held on $100,000 cash bail, a figure that later was reduced to personal recognizance.
She faces two felony charges: conspiracy to commit murder and criminal solicitation to commit murder.
According to an assessment document prepared by a counselor at a substance use treatment program where Earle is enrolled, Earle has a young son and is due to have her second child in May. Ramos is the fatehr of both.
The document alleges Ramos in November choked Earle until she lost consciousness.
Ramos currently is on probation in connection with a June 2015 misdemeanor domestic violence/simple assault/physical contact conviction that stemmed from a February 2015 incident, according to New Hampshire Department of Corrections spokesman Jeff Lyons.
His probation expires in June of this year.
