Wells River, Vt. — Several Upper Valley athletes were named to the Central Vermont League boys basketball all-star team on Wednesday, as selected by the league’s coaches.

Rivendell’s Owen Pelletier (guard-forward), Sharon’s Harvey Kelley (guard-forward) and Sam Knoerlein (forward) and South Royalton’s Nicholas Howe (guard) were part of the 11-player team.

Rivendell’s Zach Gould and South Royalton’s Dalton McDougall were named honorable mention.

Colby-Sawyer, Lesley Split

Lakeland, Fla. — Colby-Sawyer (3-4) and Lesley split a doubleheader on a chilly Wednesday at the former spring training home of the Detroit Tigers.

Lesley (3-2) won the first game, 9-6, before Colby-Sawyer took game two, 11-7.

Joey Fenuccio finished with three hits, two runs and two RBIs to lead Colby-Sawyer on game one, while Quechee’s Justin Devoid added two hits and scored twice.

Jackson Musco had three hits, three runs and a pair of stolen bases for the Chargers in game two, and Woodstock resident Doug Avellino stole a pair of bases and added two hits with a game-high three RBIs. Dion was 1-for-1 with two walks, two runs and two RBIs.

The Chargers (3-4) will play two against the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts at 2:30 p.m. today in Auburndale, Fla.
