Ballot voting, including electing officers, will take place from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 14, at Town Hall. Dorchester’s town floor meeting will take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 18, at Town Hall.

Dorchester — Voters in Dorchester will be asked to approve an operating budget of $449,900, a roughly $5,000 increase over the amount approved last year.

To support town spending and all of the warrant articles, voters would need to raise about $332,400 through taxes, also a roughly $5,000 increase, according to the proposed budget.

Town officials also ask that residents act on a handful of other articles, including an optional tax exemption for people who have renewable energy sources on their property.

Article No. 3 asks residents to amend the town zoning ordinance, relating to accessory dwelling units, according to the warrant.

Two other articles relate to capital reserve funds, including placing $1,000 from the unreserved fund balance into the Cemetery Land Acquisition & Development Capital Reserve Fund.

The other seeks to create a Road Improvement Capital Reserve Fund and place $24,000 in it, also from the unreserved fund balance, the warrant states.

Another article asks to put $3,500 from reserve toward a survey for Cheever Chapel.
