White, Brown, and Selectman Simon Dennis all indicated interest in serving as the next vice chair, a position that typically assists the chair by running Selectboard meetings, representing the board at public events, and setting meeting agendas with the town manager.
Brown, a veteran and an information access assistant at the Dartmouth College Library, was the top vote-getter among five candidates when he won his seat in 2016.
He won the seat on a vote of 4-2, with himself, Mike Morris, Sandy Mariotti and Alan Johnson voting in favor, with Dennis and White opposed, according to CATV video of the meeting.
White, a community organizer for a solar company, was first elected in 2015, and withstood a write-in campaign to retain her seat last week.
During the same meeting, Chairman Dick Grassi was unanimously re-elected as chairman, and Mariotti was unanimously re-elected as clerk.
