Thetford — Two members of the Selectboard were defeated in ballot voting Tuesday.

Selectboard member Bill Huff was defeated by Li Shen, who mounted a winning write-in campaign. Shen, who currently chairs the town Conservation Commission, garnered 376 votes in ballot voting to 273 for Huff.

Selectboard member John Bacon also lost his bid for a three-year seat, losing to former road crew foreman Doug Stone 314-293.

Residents voted, 442-228, to approve an $8.77 million school district budget, up about 6 percent from last year.

They also voted to approve $50,000 in additional funds to the school’s capital improvement fund by a vote of 407-257.

Scott McPhee ran unopposed for another term on the School Board, garnering 539 votes. Selectboard member James Dixon also ran uncontested and received 503 votes.
