Fort Myers, Fla. — Kevin Richard Gibson, 58, formerly of Lebanon and Georges Mills, N.H., died on Saturday evening, Feb. 25, 2017, at Lee Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers.

Kevin was born in Lebanon on March 30, 1958, the youngest of four children, to Harold K. and Virginia (Parker) Gibson. Growing up, he showed an avid interest in and aptitude for sports. He could often be found shooting hoops in the driveway or playing endless rounds of golf at Carter Country Club. He graduated from Lebanon High School in 1976, where he was a standout athlete in basketball, baseball, and golf.

Kevin graduated from Springfield College in 1980, where he earned a degree in physical education and was captain of the golf team. That same year, he began his professional golf career as the pro and general manager at Carter Country Club. From 1986 to 2010, he was the head pro at the Country Club of New Hampshire and also became the club’s general manager in 1992. Throughout his career, he was a PGA certified golf professional. He was past president of the New Hampshire chapter of the New England PGA and a former state’s representative to the NEPGA executive committee. From 1998 to 2011, he was the women’s golf coach at Dartmouth College and had been a member of the N.H. Intercollegiate Athletic Association’s golf committee.

In addition, he was the varsity golf coach at Kearsarge Regional High School from1988 to 1997; assistant men’s basketball coach at Colby-Sawyer College in 1995 and 1996; assistant women’s basketball coach at Colby-Sawyer in 1994; and varsity girls’ basketball coach at Mascoma Valley Regional High School from 1983 to 1985.

Kevin’s parents and his mother-in-law, Mary Ann Robinson, predeceased him. He is survived by his wife, Carla Branch Gibson, whom he married on Oct. 6, 2012; his son, Carsten Branch Gibson; his siblings, Diane Gibson of Lebanon, Peter Gibson of Canaan, and Sandra Gibson-Quigley and her husband, Douglas Quigley, of Sturbridge, Mass.; his nieces, Nora Quigley (Roscoe) Kane and Megan Quigley (Tim) Amaral; several cousins; and his father-in-law, Charles Branch.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Kevin’s life on Saturday, March 4, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at The Heights Center, located at 15570 Hagie Drive in Fort Myers.

Locally, family and friends are invited to Ricker Funeral Home in Lebanon for Kevin’s memorial calling hours on Saturday, March 11, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., with an opportunity to share memories about Kevin at 4 p.m.
