Three seats are being contested for City Council by a mix of newcomers and familiar faces to Lebanon politics.
In Ward 1, three people are running for a one-year seat on the City Council to replace outgoing Mayor Georgia Tuttle, who decided to step down after more than eight years in the position. Residents Jim Winny, Devin Wilkie and former City Councilor Dan Nash have filed to run for the seat.
Former City Councilor Dean Sorenson will run against Shane Smith for a two-year seat for Ward 2. The seat currently is held by City Councilor Bill Finn, who has decided not to run again.
There’s also a three-way race for an at-large City Council seat. Incumbent Karen Liot Hill will face off against Michael Balog and Catherine Patch.
Assistant Mayor Suzanne Prentiss and City Councilor Clifton Below are running unopposed for two-year terms in Wards 1 and 3, respectively.
The School Board will see eight people vying for three open seats. Incumbents Richard Milius and Ralph Horak are being challenged by Adam Nemeroff, Chris Lamontagne, Jason Finley, Jennifer Mansfield, Erin Madory and Joshua Henderson.
The Lebanon Chamber of Commerce is scheduled to host a candidates’ night from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, March 7, at City Hall. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 14, at city polling locations.
