After Baylor defeated Texas Tech on Saturday, Mulkey complained about the negative coverage and the dip in reputation that have followed the sexual assault scandal involving the school and its football program. She told Baylor fans if people tell them they will never send their daughters to Baylor, they should “knock them right in the face.”
Oklahoma coach Sherri Coale was among those who spoke out against Mulkey’s comments. She told The Oklahoman she was “disappointed” in Mulkey and that women have a responsibility to fight for one another. Mulkey has since apologized in interviews for using violence in her statement.

Kelsey Lang hit a baseline jumper with 1:57 to go for a 61-54 lead and she fouled out 13 seconds later. Then Audrey-Ann Caron-Goudreau picked up her fifth foul with 1:22 left, but Kansas State missed both free throws and trailed 64-55.
Higgs made four straight free throws with under two minutes left, the last for a 10-point lead at the 1:06 mark.
Brianna Taylor added 12 points with 11 rebounds for Texas (22-7, 15-3), which broke a three-game losing streak. The Longhorns won their 15th conference game to tie the 2002-03 and 2015-16 teams for the program record.

Butts scored the final five points of the first quarter for a 22-8 lead and she scored her 14th point on a 3-pointer as time expired in the first half for a nine-point lead. She closed the third with a steal and layup to make it 53-38.
Tanaya Atkinson had a team-high 21 points and nine rebounds for Temple (23-6, 13-3 American Athletic Conference.

Joel Berry II scored 12 points to lead the Tar Heels (25-6, 13-4), who snapped a four-game winning streak. ACC player of the year contender Justin Jackson, who arrived averaging 19.9 points in league play, was guarded most of the night by Perrantes and scored just seven points and missed seven of his 10 shots.

The Bears (24-6, 11-6 Big 12) avenged a 21-point loss at West Virginia on Jan. 10, which came after Baylor had won its first 15 games and reached No. 1 in the AP Top 25 for the first time in school history.
Jo Lual-Acuil added 11 points and 10 rebounds for Baylor, which ended the game with a 30-13 run over the final 9 minutes. Al Freeman had 12 with a pair of 3-pointers in the closing stretch.
Jevon Carter had 18 points and nine rebounds for West Virginia (23-7, 11-6).
The Mountaineers led 49-41 when Carter made a jumper with 9:04 left, and didn’t score again until Carter’s nifty basket 3 minutes later when he drove, stopped, twisted and then scored with a short jumper.
That put them ahead for the last time.
