Port Charlotte, Fla. — The Dartmouth bats collected 18 hits and its three pitchers surrendered just four as the Big Green baseball team cruised to a 13-1 victory over St. Bonaventure on Sunday in the squad’s final game at the Snowbird Classic.

Sophomore Matt Feinstein and junior Dustin Shirley led the Dartmouth (2-1) offense as each went 4-for-6 with two runs scored on the day. Among Feinstein’s hit a pair of doubles, and he also had a game-high three RBIs, while Shirley drove in a pair of runs.

Senior Michael Danielak (1-0) earned the victory with five scoreless innings, yielding two hits and a walk while striking out six. Jack Fossand was credited with the save for tossing the final three frames, giving up one run on two hits to go with a pair of punchouts.

College Softball

Dartmouth 5, Maryland 5 (6)

Lafayette, La. — Dartmouth (0-4-1) and Maryland (2-11-1) played to a tie in the final game of the Mardi Gras Classic after play was suspended because of travel plans.

The Big Green scored twice in the bottom the sixth to force the draw. Maddie Damore hit a solo home run and Claire Bird scored on a throwing error. Damore, Bird and Micah Schroder had two hits apiece for Dartmouth.

College Track & Field

Dartmouth Men Tie for Third

New York — The Dartmouth men tied for third at the Ivy League Heptagonal Indoor Track & Field Championship.

Princeton won its fifth straight team title with 135 points, while Cornell was second with 93 points. The Big Green and Yale each had 78 points.

Dartmouth picked up most of its points in the men’s heptathlon as Nico Robinson (second), Benjamin Ose (third) and Matthew Sindelar (fourth) combined for 18 points. Robinson’s performance earned him All-Ivy second-team honors.

The triple jump saw Justin Donawa place third and Corey Muggler fourth.

The Dartmouth women were sixth, as Harvard won its fifth straight team title with 125 points.

Dartmouth freshman Cha’Mia Rothwell won her second individual championship of the weekend by taking the top spot in the 60-meter hurdles in an Ivy League-record 8.30 seconds. Rothwell, who won the long jump on Saturday, was named the most outstanding female field performer.

For the second year in a row, Dartmouth’s Helen Schlachtenhaufen won the mile (4:46.25).

Girls Hockey

Hanover 9, Bp. Guertin 0

Nashua, n.h. — Hannah Curtis had a hat trick as Hanover (16-2-1 overall, 16-1-1 NHIAA), playing its sixth game in eight days, defeated Bishop Guertin in its regular-season finale.

Briland Laycock (two goals, three assists), Mahler Meyerrose (two goals),

Cate Wagner (goal, two assists) and Maggie Lee (goal) also scored for Hanover. CiCi Barton, who added an assist, and Claire Yegian split time in goal for the Marauders, who are off until the their playoff opener at 5:10 p.m. on Friday at Campion Rink.

Boys Hockey

KUA 4, New Hampton 2

Meriden — Kimball Union rebounded from a tough Friday night loss to defeat New Hampton on Saturday.

Logan Cash, Roope Hirvonen, Paul McAuliffe and Mike Lombardi scored for the Wildcats, and Lombardi also assisted twice. Sean Dynan was in goal.

KUA is seeded third in the NEPSAC Elite 8 tournament and will host Thayer Academy on Wednesday.

Boys Basketball

MacDuffie 58, KUA 56

Meriden — MacDuffie ended the game on a 15-8 run to defeat Kimball Union (11-17) on Saturday in the Wildcats’ season finale.

KUA’s Spencer Cline finished with a team high 16 points, followed by Eze Dike with 14.

Girls Basketball

KUA 45, Governor’s 38

Newbury, Mass. — KUA finished the regular season with a win at Governor’s Academy on Saturday.

Taylor Soule finished with 18 points and 13 rebounds, while Christina Ryan added 15 points.

The Wildcats visit Wilbraham & Monson on Wednesday in the first round of the NEPSAC tournament.

H.S. Wrestling

Tiger Wins at MoC

Nashua, n.h. — Newport’s Tyler Sharron went 3-0 in the 160-pound weight class at Saturday’s NHIAA Meet of Champions at Nashua High School South.

In his first match, he had a technical fall over Manchester Central’s Momin Khawaja, winning 16-0. In the semifinals, Tyler defeated the NHIAA Division II champion Kyle Faucher-Clancy, of Milford, 9-6.

In the final, a rematch of last weekend’s D-III championship match, he defeated Campbell’s Marc Boomhower for the fourth time this season, 6-4.

Sharron has a 32-0 record this season. He also received the DiCenzo-Gavriel Award for outstanding sportsmanship from the New Hampshire Wrestling Officials Association.

Newport’s Michael Tremblay (195 lbs) competed and lost twice.
