Claremont, N.H. — William Norman Brown, 82, of Claremont, died on Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2017 at his home.

He was born in Reading, Vt. on Oct. 18, 1934, the son of Preston K. and Blanche (Rayno) Brown.

Bill was a graduate of Stevens High School.

He served in the US Army from 1957-1959.

Bill had worked for P.K. Brown’s and Sons, Inc. with his father and brother. He then worked for Newman Lumber Company, he had a tack shop on Main Street for 10 years and started Brown and Cohen Trucking.

He enjoyed collecting antiques.

The family includes his sister, Madelyn Kinsman of Norwich, Vt.; a nephew, Robert Sammon of Sunapee; and a sister-in-law, Carol Brown of Cornish.

He was predeceased by his parents, his sister, Evelyn Brown, his brother, Arthur Brown and a nephew, Richard Sammon.

A graveside service will be held in the spring at the convenience of the family.
