Allard scored the Hartford High boys hockey team’s final two goals on Wednesday night, completing a hat trick and boosting the Hurricanes to a 5-4 win over Harwood at the Waterbury Ice Center. The victory followed a shutout loss for the Hurricanes (10-4-0) to Mount Mansfield on Saturday.
“It’s a great turnaround from a very disappointing effort,” said Hartford coach Todd Bibeau, whose team hosts Lyndon on Saturday. “It was an up-and-down hockey game and a very credible win for us.”
Hartford led, 2-1, after one period, and the Vermont Division II contest was tied, 3-3, after two stanzas. Allard scored the next two goals, during the third period’s fifth and seventh minutes, before Harwood closed out the offense late.
Richie Morrill made 44 saves. Tyler Hamilton and Ben Rouillard each had a goal and two assists. Patrick McGlone had two assists and Andrew Daley had one.

“We came away realizing we can play with anybody,” said Hanover coach Dick Dodds, whose squad has four regular-season games remaining, two at home and two on the road.
Elias Zinman pulled Hanover into a 1-1 tie during the second period before Jonathan Goff put his team up, 2-1, with assists from Will Smith and Jake Acker.
The Marauders, 12-6 overall and 9-5 in division play, received 28 saves from Gabe Loud and host Bishop Brady on Wednesday.

“The third period was good back-and-forth hockey,” said Lebanon head coach Brad Shaw. “We pulled (goaltender Halle Drew) with two minutes left and had some good chances, but just couldn’t score.”
Drew made 25 saves. Lebanon (5-6) hosts Berlin on Saturday.

“We came all the way back, but they out-executed us in the fourth quarter,” said South Royalton coach Pete Howe, whose team trailed, 16-7, after a quarter. “Balls didn’t go in that normally go in. It was one of those games that will help us at the end of the season.”
Nick Howe had 18 points for the Royals (13-4), who also received 12 points from Dalton McDougall.
Said Rivendell coach Jeff Huntington: “We knew we had to work on containing Howe and McDougall. We packed into a 2-3 zone and hit some big shots on the other end.”
Shane Smith had 15 points, Zack Gould netted 13 and Isaac Martel had 10 for Rivendell (9-6), which visits Sharon on Tuesday.

Woodstock’s boys and girls teams each finished second. The girls finished six points shy of BBA despite Wasps occupying two of the top three places. The boys finished three points behind Rutland.
“I still maintain we have one of the strongest teams in the state,” Woodstock head coach Fred Dieffenbach said. “But we need our strongest skiers to finish consistently.”
Hartley Walker-Money finished seventh and Erik Weiss was eighth.
