Stowe, Vt. — The Dartmouth College ski team won its last NCAA championship in 2007, the last time the University of New Hampshire served as host. UNH will again entertain nationals next month, and the Big Green is looking primed for a repeat result.

Alexa Dlouhy won the women’s slalom, Thomas Woolson grabbed the men’s slalom and Fabian Stocek raced to a 10K classic victory as Dartmouth won the University of Vermont Carnival on Saturday, its third in as many carnival starts this winter. Buoyed by the three victories, Dartmouth posted 923 team points to beat runner-up UNH by nearly 200 points.

On Mount Mansfield, Dlouhy won her first race of 2017 with a two-run time of 1 minute, 55.30 seconds. Kelly Moore took third and Hannah Melinchuk fourth in a dominant finish for Dartmouth.

Woolson was likewise solid for the Big Green men, taking his slalom in 1:54.70. David Domonoske was eighth (1:58.55) for Dartmouth.

At Trapp Family Lodge, only Stocek broke the 30-minute mark in the men’s 10K classic, clocking 29 minutes, 49 seconds, to beat UNH’s Peter Holmes by nearly 15 seconds. Abigail Drach nearly made it clean sweep for Dartmouth, finishing second (34:20.2) in the women’s 10K classic, trailing only UNH’s Elizabeth Gill (33:52.4).

The Big Green still has three carnivals to complete before NCAA planning begins. Dartmouth hosts its carnival next weekend, with alpine racing at the Dartmouth Skiway and cross country competition set for Oak Hill.

Team scores (top five): Dartmouth 923, New Hampshire 725, Vermont 696, Colby 618, Williams, 599.
