Concord — A U.S. District Court judge has sentenced a North Carolina man to eight years in prison after he pleaded guilty in federal court to charges stemming from a meth bust last January in Lebanon.

Upon his release, Jamie Smith, 28, will remain under supervision for three years, according to a U.S. Department of Justice news release issued on Thursday.

According to the release, some “co-defendants,” who weren’t named, picked Smith up from a bus station in Vermont in late January and together they drove to purchase ingredients to make meth.

They then went to a Lebanon apartment where Smith began a one-pot cook, the release states.

He pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine and one count of possessing materials to make meth.
