Hartford
It was the second armed robbery on a short stretch of Route 5 this week, but police believe two different men are responsible because of witness descriptions and surveillance video, Hartford Police Maj. Brad Vail said in an interview today.
Around 8:30 Tuesday night, an armed man entered the Wilder Mobil at 906 Hartford Ave. and handed the clerk a bag to fill with cash, Hartford police said in a news release. He then fled on foot toward Hewitt Street and got into a car that was waiting for him on Wilder Street, according to police.
The suspect is described as a white male who stands about 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighs 170 to 180 pounds. He was wearing cargo pants, sneaker boots, a gray jacket with a green jacket underneath it and gloves.
Around 1 a.m. Sunday, the Cumberland Farms at 1167 Hartford Ave. was robbed by an armed man. The suspect in that robbery is also described as a white male who weighs about 180 pounds. He stands about 5 feet 6 inches tall.
Anyone with information about either robbery is urged to call Hartford police at 802-295-9425.
