So how long am I to be tormented by the leftist liberal Valley News continually bashing Trump? Where are all these tolerant liberals who love and accept everyone? Get over it. Trump won! He was elected by the silent majority.

Trump Warned Us
Over the past year and a half, an impulsive and explosive Trump told us repeatedly he wasnโt going to change. Thatโs the one thing he said we should have believed.

The Trump Threat
I would like to give a huge round of applause and an even bigger thank you to A.E. Norton of Woodstock for his insightful Jan. 14 Forum letter. He hit the nail on the head and expressed what many of us are both feeling and fearing in the upcoming administration of Donald Trump.
Mr. Trump (I refuse to give him the title of โpresident-electโ because I truly believe he attained that title by unworthy means) is indeed a very dangerous man who does not deserve that title nor the honor that goes with it.
For the first time in my 80 years, I am ashamed of my country and the method by which we elect our president. Heaven help us all!

Shame on the GOP
The GOPโs plan to cancel the Affordable Care Act without an alternative plan to provide health insurance to millions of citizens is reckless, irresponsible and vindictive.
Can it be improved? Certainly. Has it had a beneficial effect on the lives of millions of American citizens? Yes, without a doubt.
Leaders of the GOP have had seven years to develop a responsible plan to replace the ACA, but failed to do so. They will live to regret this act of irresponsible governance. Shame on them.

Consider the Birds
Before long in the Upper Valley, the cold grays and browns of winter will give way to the colors and sounds of spring. Forests turn green as trees open their new leaves, and we are so lucky, as birds return, to hear their pretty songs. The beauty we see and hear is one facet of a greater beauty of ecological balance that sustains life on our planet.
As spring approaches, I hope that people who own land will treasure the priceless resource they have and be a helpful presence to wildlife who share the land. The season of spring into summer (April 15-Aug. 1) is nesting season in the Upper Valley, and if you are planning work on your property, I hope you will avoid work during that time.
The Upper Valley sadly is undergoing areas of development, and avoiding construction during nesting season is one way we can help sustain our wildlife whose habitat is decreasing.
