The grant is from the Lane and Elizabeth C. Dwinell Charitable Trust, whichworks to strengthen the community and support positive social change in New Hampshire, according to a news release from Cover. The Dwinells lived in Lebanon for more than 60 years.
Cover helps accomplish the trust’s mission in a number of ways, including connecting volunteers with homeowners to make repairs such as roof replacements, weatherization and safety improvements, and build access ramps, the release said. Re-connecting families to their neighbors “helps restore hope that others care and respect their needs.”
The Cover Store sells donated furniture, appliances and building materials at prices accessible to homeowners shopping on limited budgets, the release said.
Cover completed more than 80 urgently needed home repair jobs in 2016, said Phil Vermeer, the nonprofit’s board president. “While there is lots more work to do in 2017, we are very grateful for the continued support of the Dwinell Charitable Trust.”
