Lebanon, N.H. —
Born in Mount Kisco, N.Y., he enlisted in the Marines following graduation from high school, and later returned to attend Trinity College in Hartford, Conn. He lived in Hamburg, N.Y. while working for Bethlehem Steel before moving to West Lebanon, N.H. where he sold real estate. He loved travel, sports cars, and the outdoors, and was active in the Appalachian Mountain Club. He was a volunteer for many years at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon.
He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara Whitman, and in addition to Ellen, is survived by a sister, Marcia Crisp of Lenox, Mass.; a son, Scott MacDonald of Higganum, Conn.; and daughter, Bambi Thompson of Bath, Maine; their spouses; three grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and several of Barbara’s family.
At Bill’s request, there will be no memorial service.
