After high school, she earned a degree in Physical Therapy at Bouve College, Tufts University. Upon graduation, she joined the Army and served in England and Germany rehabilitating wounded soldiers.

Her profession eventually led her to Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital where she was reacquainted with her future husband, David Hewitt. During her longtime residence in Hanover, Elizabeth raised a family, assisted with the family’s printing business, and practiced physical therapy. In 1992, she married Wallace Geiger, her high school sweetheart. They enjoyed three blissful years traveling to destinations within and outside of the United States.

Throughout life, Elizabeth was a staunch supporter of Girl Scouts and a talented gardener, quilter, seamstress, and knitter.
