Enfield — Eastern Propone & Oil, which had been operating out of temporary offices in Lebanon, has opened a new office and storage facility on Hathorn Road in Enfield, to expand operations in the Upper Valley. “This gives us a footprint in Enfield, Lebanon, Hanover, Canaan and across the river in Vermont,” said Josh Anderson, Eastern’s vice president of sales and marketing.

The move follows Eastern’s purchase a couple years ago of Patriot Fuels in Enfield and its move into the Upper Valley market.

The family-owned Rochester, N.H.-based company until now has principally been serving the Upper Valley out of its Claremont facility, but the new Enfield facility, when completed, will include a four-bay garage and two 30,000-gallon storage tanks, said district manager Mark Limoges, who will oversee both facilities. The Enfield station — the eighth location for Eastern — will employ about 10 people, Limoges said, and serve the company’s approximately 4,000 customers in Grafton County.

Eastern has 85,000 customers in total.

Eastern, founded in 1932, distributes propane and fuel oil to homes and businesses in New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Vermont.
