Hanover, N.H. —
Born on June 1, 1924, a daughter of John and May (Grimpel) Schramm, one of eight children. She grew up in Middle Village, N.Y. Attended St. Margaret’s school in Middle Village and later graduated from All Saints Commercial High School in Brooklyn, N.Y. During WWII she worked for the Army Air Corps. In 1945 she left the Army Air Corps and went to work for Time, Inc. where she met David House. They were married in 1953. Together they moved to Hanover from Bronxville, N.Y. in 1969 with their two sons and worked part time for Johnson & Dix Fuel Corp., K-Ross Building Supply and Kacey Travel. She did volunteer work for the Upper Valley Senior Center in Lebanon, also with the Red Cross Blood drives and at the Pink Smock Gift Shop at DHMC. She enjoyed knitting and belonged to the Cadagren Knitters for many years. She also loved playing bridge and traveling.
Her beloved husband David as well as her parents and six brothers predeceased her.
Her sons, J. Douglas of Enfield, N.H. and William D. of Pike, N.H. survive her as well as her daughter-in-law, Andra; and granddaughter Erica. Other survivors include her sister, Mary Reynolds of Largo, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
Following Ann’s request there will be no calling hours. A Funeral mass will be held at the Sacred Heart Church in Lebanon, N.H. on Saturday Jan. 14 at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Sacred Heart Memorial Fund, PO Box 482, Lebanon, NH 03766 and/or the Lebanon Senior Center, 10 Campbell Street, Lebanon, NH 03766.
