Lebanon — Another day, another honor for longtime Lebanon High boys soccer coach Rob Johnstone.

The Raiders’ 24-year bench boss this week was named the National Soccer Coaches Association of America’s large-school coach of the year for the New England region. This comes on the heels of a similar honor for New Hampshire large schools that Johnstone earned from his fellow Granite State coaches last month.

The Middlebury College graduate has amassed a 268-130-37 mark over his Lebanon career. This past season’s 17-1-1 side had the best record of any school in the New Hampshire Interscholastic Athletic Association’s four divisions, reaching the Division II final before falling in a penalty-kick tiebreaker.

Johnstone’s teams have posted at least 10 wins in each of the past 13 campaigns.

The regional award makes Johnstone eligible for the NSCAA’s national large school coach of the year award. The association will complete voting on that honor prior to its national convention next month.
