Don’t pay retail for ski lift tickets and trail passes this season. Though the days of deep single-day event deals are fading, there still are some dates to mark on the calendar for the upcoming season. Plus, areas are offering more and better multi-day ticket deals to entice you to stick with their brand.
Always check ski area websites for deals as well as platforms such as liftopia.com, getskitickets.com and Groupon.
Non-holiday two-for-one deals are some of the most popular ways in New Hampshire to save money old-school style, at the ticket window. Gunstock poffers them on Mondays, Bretton Woods and Mount Sunapee have them on Wednesdays (canopy tours are also two-for-one on non-holiday Tuesdays at Bretton Woods), and Cannon does so on both Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Cross-country skiers can take advantage of two-for-one days as well at Bretton Woods on non-holiday Wednesdays and Great Glen Trails Mondays and Fridays.
What’s better than a two-fer? How about Wicked Wednesdays at Vermont’s Burke Mountain Ski Area, where $64 lands you three tickets (all three people must be present). Burke also has $35 non-holiday tickets Tuesdays and Thursdays for those age 55 and older.
Pay $10 for Tuesday night lift tickets at King Pine. The East Madison, N.H., ski area also has a Saturday night family four-pack for $66—good on any holiday night too—and $29 adult tickets on non-holiday Sundays.
For $49, Pats Peak’s Pay One Price Saturday ticket includes pass, tubing, rentals, lesson tips and entertainment from Dec. 26 to season’s end.
Cannon’s Peabody Base Area offers Saturday Family Fun Nights from late December to early March from 4:30-6:30 p.m. It’s five bucks to use the Huckerbrook Mini-Park.
In central New Hampshire, Ragged Mountain’s College Cut Deal serves up $19 tickets every non-holiday day to students with a valid college ID.
Bennington, N.H.’s Crotched Mountain has its $29 Friday Midnight Madness tickets for college students and $29 passes on College Wednesdays.
At Waterville Valley, pay $15 for junior lift tickets for ages 6-12 any non-holiday Sundays. It’s $17 there on St. Patrick’s Day and a buck on April Fool’s Day (March 31).
Dartmouth Skiway is a fine $20 on non-holiday Mondays and Tuesdays while Whaleback Mountain, in Enfield, has a $25 midweek flat rate. Roxbury, N.H.’s Granite Gorge includes $49 top holiday adult lift tickets, two-hour tubing park tickets for $18 and college season passes for $99.
On non-holiday Family Fridays at Peru, Vt.’s Bromley Mountain, every full paying adult can purchase up to three teen/junior tickets for $20 each.
At Mount Sunapee, skiers and riders who purchase lift tickets online four days in advance of the day they plan to ski save 50 percent off their Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday (non-holiday) lift tickets.
At Mount Snow, pay $12 (online only, limited number) on Dec. 12 during Founders Day. Youth pay their age on Jan. 8, and limited St. Patrick’s Day tickets sell for $17 (online only).
Save money non-holiday Sunday afternoons at Sunapee ($49), Ragged (N.H. residents only, $34), Attitash ($30), Wildcat ($30), Crotched ($29), Mad River Glen ($49), Burke ($25), and Mount Snow ($39).
At Okemo, Dec. 4 is the Cares and Shares Food Drive with $49 lift tickets to those bringing five non-perishable food items to be donated to food shelters. Sunapee has its similar promotion on Dec. 11 and April 2, offering $35 tickets.
Mad River Glen’s got some deals like the $3.50 Roll Back the Clock day passes Jan. 31 and $17 St. Patricks’ Day tickets for those wearing green.
New Hampshire residents with I.D. pay $25 at Cannon on non-holiday Wednesdays.
Youths age 18 and under pay their age on Jan. 8 and March 26 at both Attitash and Wildcat.
Valentine’s Day is two-for-$75 at Attitash and Wildcat with both areas having $17 lift tickets St. Patrick’s Day.
Cranmore’s $10 on Jan. 6 during Ticket Rollback Day.
Free? Yup. The Learning Center Quad is free for everyone, midweek non-holiday at Bretton Woods. Granite State senior residents (65-plus) are free midweek non-holiday at Cannon. Ski free on your birthday at Gunstock XC.
Lastly, learn to ski or ride free at Ragged Mountain all season. The Bebe Woods Free Learn to Ski and Ride program presented by Rossignol features three free lessons, rentals and lift tickets.
So get on board — and save some cash — this winter.
