Cambridge, Mass. — The Dartmouth College women’s rugby team used a pair of second-half tries and a stingy defense to capture its second straight Ivy League rugby title Sunday afternoon.

The top-seeded Big Green scored two quick tries midway through the final stanza to defeat Harvard, 14-5, at Mignone Field and secure their second conference title in as many years since moving to varsity status.

Isabel Boettcher’s penalty try put Dartmouth on the scoreboard in the 65th minute. Boettcher was pulled down by a high tackle in the 65th minute while running to the corner of the try zone. Game officials awarded the points to the Big Green, to which Kat Ramage added the conversion for a 7-5 lead.

Frankie Sands took a Ramage pass in the 70th minute and bulled through the Harvard defense on a 20-yard try to clinch the win. Ramage added her second conversion.
