Chipper, adoptable from Sullivan County Humane Society

“I am 6-year-old Chipper. I showed up at the home of one of Sullivan County Humane Society’s volunteers. Boy, did I pick the right house to beg for food. The volunteer immediately went door to door to see if anyone knew me, and when no one did, she brought me to the humane society.

“I am super sweet. If you walk by me in the community area of the shelter, I often reach out my paw. If you sit down, I often climb into your lap. I am completely vetted. Come meet me and all my friends soon!”

Chipper is up for adoption from Sullivan County Humane Society, located at 145 Broad St. in Claremont. Please see hours on the humane society website at www.sullivancountyhumanesociety.org and Facebook. Call 603-542-3277 or email sullivanhumane@hotmail.com.

Ruby, adoptable from Upper Valley Humane Society

“Hi! I’m Ruby, and I’m a 1-year-old black kitty. I love to spend my time playing, singing, and occasionally doing some office work!

“I’d like a calm home that’s stress free, since I can sometimes feel a little overwhelmed when there’s a lot of hustle and bustle. I’d also like a home with someone who loves to snuggle. If you’d like a quirky petite little lady, then come see me today.”

Ruby is up for adoption from the Upper Valley Humane Society, located at 300 Old Route 10 in Enfield and open to the public Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. The Upper Valley Humane Society is also on Facebook and Instagram and can be reached at 603-448-6888.

Robin, adoptable from Lucy Mackenzie Humane Society

“Hi! My name’s Robin and I’m a 2-year-old neutered male mixed breed dog that came to Lucy Mackenzie as a stray.

“Life hasn’t always been easy for me, but I’m looking forward to starting over in my new home. I’m a fun-loving active fella that has tons of potential, and lots of love to give.

“Since I’ve been here, we’ve spent lots of time working on basic behaviors, like how to walk on a leash, how to sit and stay. Patience isn’t something that comes easy to me, but I sure am doing much better!

“I’d be the only animal in my ideal home, and my human would be committed toward continuing my training with me. All I really need in life is a second chance. If you’ve been looking for a new best friend, stop in and meet me today.”

Robin is up for adoption from Lucy Mackenzie Humane Society, located at 4832 Route 44 in West Windsor and open to the public Tuesday through Saturday, 12-4 p.m. Lucy Mackenzie is also on Facebook and Twitter and can be reached at 802-484-5829.

Titus, adoptable from River Valley Animal Protection League

Titus is quite the character. Unlike a Roman emperor, he generally plays best on his own or with a person friend. Titus is more like a 5-year-old “emperor” in that he gets a little carried away with excitement, ends up leaping up the walls screaming “karate!” with a mouth full of Legos, and decides that his cat friends should all be executed. In other words, he would make the best fit as sole ruler of his household or he may share with quiet, disinterested cat roommates.

Other important things about Titus include that he is actually affectionate in between super-awesome-go-crazy play times (again, like a 5-year-old). He enjoys being petted and will ask for it in meows and chirps.

Titus isn’t much of a counter surfer or a climber; he seems to mostly like to keep his four on the floor.

Also, he is cute! Seriously cute. Even when what you see of him is just a gray and white streak racing across the hall.

Titus is up for adoption from the River Valley Animal Protection League, located at 60 Cummings Ave. in Charlestown and open to the public Mondays, 4-7 p.m., and Saturdays, 1-4 p.m., or by appointment by calling 603-826-3061. The River Valley Animal Protection League is also on Facebook.
