Simonds — Higgins

South Pomfret — Joany Simonds and Alex Higgins were married on June 25, 2016, at Shelburne Farms in Shelburne, Vt.

David Landers officiated at the ceremony. A reception followed at the venue’s Coach Barn.

The bride is the daughter of Sandra and Jack Simonds, of South Pomfret. She graduated from Woodstock Union High School in 2007 and earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and journalism from Saint Michael’s College in 2011. She is pursuing a master’s degree in public administration at Villanova University in Villanova, Pa., and is employed as the event manager at Farm Sanctuary, which is headquartered in Watkins Glen, N.Y.

The bridegroom is the son of Natalie and Stephen Higgins, of North Scottsdale, Ariz. He graduated from Brophy College Prepartory in Phoenix, Ariz., in 2005 and earned a bachelor’s degree in English and Russian from Saint Michael’s College. He is purusing a degree in osteopathic medicine at A.T. Still University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona, in Mesa, Ariz. 

The couple live in Flagstaff, Ariz.
