Towson, Md. — New Hampshire registered two defensive touchdowns — one off a fumble recovery and the other a pick-6 — and the Wildcats handled Towson in a 21-7 win on Saturday.

Trevor Knight scored the lone offensive touchdown for New Hampshire (5-3, 4-1 CAA) on a 29-yard run just before the end of the first quarter. The Wildcats’ defense took over from there.

Prince Smith Jr. intercepted Ellis Knudson and returned the ball 16 yards to make it a 14-0 contest. On the following kickoff, Shane Simpson returned it 100 yards to score to cut the Towson (1-6, 0-4) deficit in half with 7:06 before halftime.

Knight was 14-for-18 passing for 100 yards and an interception for the Wildcats. He added 64 yards on the ground.

Harvard 23Princeton 20 (ot)

Princeton, n.j. — Joe Viviano threw for two early touchdowns and scored on a 1-yard run in overtime to lift Harvard (5-1, 3-0) over Princeton (4-2, 2-1) in a battle of Ivy League unbeaten teams.

After the Tigers opened overtime with a 25-yard field goal by Tavish Rice, Viviano had a big 15-yard run on third-and-3 to the Princeton 3.

Harvard took a 14-0 lead at the half as Viviano threw for a pair of touchdowns, but the Tigers battled back and tied it at 17 with 48 seconds left on John Lovett’s second TD run. The game-tying drive was set up by a great punt return by James Frusciante, who took it 30 yards to the Crimson 24 with 1:38 left.

Brown 28, Cornell 21 (ot)

Providence, r.i. — Johnny Pena’s 1-yard touchdown plunge on the second overtime possession lifted Brown (2-4, 1-2 Ivy) over Cornell (3-3, 1-2).

Pena had 96 yards rushing on 23 carries. Thomas Linta completed 12 of 28 attempts for 154 yards with two touchdowns, while Alexander Jette made nine catches for 111 yards and two scores, including a 2-yard toss which evened it in the first overtime.

Cornell’s Dalton Banks finished 21 of 37 for 201 yards and three TDs.

Lehigh 46, Holy Cross 14

Worcester, Mass. — Dominick Bragalone ran for 182 yards on 17 carries with two touchdowns and Lehigh (6-2, 3-0 Patriot League) pulled away in the second half for a comfortable win over Holy Cross (3-5, 1-2).

Syracuse 28, BC 20

Boston — Eric Dungey threw for three touchdowns, Ervin Phillips had a pair of scores and Syracuse (4-4, 2-2 ACC) beat Boston College, sending the Eagles (3-4, 0-4) to their 12th straightACC loss.

Patrick Towles went 4 of 14 for 45 yards for Boston College (3-4, 0-4), but did run 75 yards for a touchdown.

UCF 24, UConn 16

East Hartford, Conn. — McKenzie Milton threw for a season-high 317 yards and three touchdowns to lead UCF (4-3, 2-1 American) over UConn (3-5, 1-4).

S. Carolina 34, UMass 28

Columbia, s.c. — Freshman Jake Bentley threw for two touchdowns and 201 yards in his first college game and South Carolina (3-4) matched its victory total from last year with a victory over Massachusetts (1-7).

Maine 28, Rhode Island 21

Kingston, r.i. — Josh Mack ran for 115 yards, including a 65-yard touchdown run, to help lead Maine (4-3, 3-1 CAA) over Rhode Island.

Norwich 27, Gallaudet 6

Northfield, Vt. — Freshman running back Patrick Brown rushed for 168 yards and three touchdowns as Norwich (3-4, 3-1 ECFC) defeated Gallaudet (1-6, 0-4) for its third straight victory.

Castleton 32Martime (N.Y.) 31

Castleton, n.y. — Corey Brimmer’s 1-yard touchdown run with 4:17 left, his third score of the afternoon, lifted Castleton (3-4) past Maritime (4-3).

Middlebury 28, Bates 7

Middlebury, Vt. — Jared Lebowitz threw for 394 yards and three TDs as Middlebury (4-0) defeated Bates for the 28th straight time.

Holderness, n.h. — Quron Wright rushed for 175 yards and four touchdowns as Framingham State (5-2) defeated Plymouth State (4-3).

Manchester — Yianni Gavalas threw for 262 yards and two TDs as Saint Anselm (1-7) defeated Pace (0-8) in a battle of winless teams.
