Hanover — Matt Danilack and Matt Greer scored goals as the Dartmouth College men’s soccer team defeated Yale, 2-0, on Saturday night at Burnham Field.

Danilack’s unassisted goal in the 42nd minute gave the Big Green (3-2-5) at 1-0 lead at halftime. Greer’s goal, assisted by Justin Donawa and Noah Paravicini, came in the 62nd minute.

James Hickok made four saves in goal for Dartmouth, which out-shot Yale, 10-6. Yale’s Kees Schipper made three stops.

The contest proved to be a physical one, as the team’s combined for 18 fouls total.

The Big Green’s Donawa received two yellow cards in the 86th minute, which led to an automatic ejection.

Dartmouth returns to Burnham Field next Saturday to host Penn.

Colby-Sawyer 11 Johnson State 0

New London — Junior Denali Sexton scored twice to set a Colby-Sawyer record with 42 career goals as the Chargers (5-4-1, 2-1-1 NAC) defeated Johnson State (2-9, 1-4). Sexton scored twice in the first eight minutes of the contest to set the record.

Amherst, Mass. — The Green Knights defeated Hampshire and hosts Maine-Presque Isle today.

Women’s SoccerYale 1, Dartmouth 0

Hanover — Noelle Higginson’s goal in the 73rd minute lifted Yale (5-4-3, 1-1-1 Ivy) past Dartmouth (6-5-0, 0-2-0).

Higginson scored her first collegiate goal.

Hannah Coy hit Higginson with a pass that Higginson buried in the upper right corner of the net from about 18 yards out.

Dartmouth out-shot the Bulldogs. Dartmouth’s senior goalkeeper, Casey Cousineau, finished the game with two saves, while Yale’s Alyssa Fagel made seven.

The Big Green return to Burnham Field next Saturday when it hosts Penn.

Colby-Sawyer 9Johnson State 0

New London — Colby-Sawyer (2-8-1, 1-2-1 NAC) received goals from seven different players in Saturday’s victory over Johnson State (1-9-0, 1-4-0).

Emily Martin and Lizzie Jorgensen led the Chargers with two goals apiece.

Field HockeyColby-Sawyer 2, Thomas 1

New London — Freshman Alie Jones scored with 2:16 left to play to lift Colby-Sawyer over Thomas.

Colby-Sawyer (9-4, 2-1 NAC_ set a program record for wins with Saturday’s triumph.

The Chargers have seen an increase in wins every season since becoming varsity in 2011. Thomas is 3-9, 1-2 NAC.

Colleen Burke netted her first collegiate goal in the 12th minute to give Colby-Sawyer a 1-0 lead.

Men’s TennisBig Green Shines at Invite

Hanover — The Big Greenhad a good showing on day two of the Dartmouth Invitational, going 8-1 in singles and 5-3 in doubles.

In the semifinal of draw one, junior Max Fliegner and freshman David Horneffer had wins over players from Yale, and teammates Diego Pedraza and Max Schmidt had three-set victories over Binghamton in draw two.

Eddie Grabill, Roko Glasnovic and Joey Haig also earned singles victories.

In the quarterfinal of the first draw of doubles, Glasnovic and Pedraza defeated a duo from Binghamton (8-2), while Horneffer paired up with Schmidt to defeat a doubles team from Brown (8-5). Later on in the day, Horneffer and Schmidt won their semifinal match against a pair from Yale (8-6).

Grabill and junior Paul Midgley were victorious in their quarterfinal match against Yale (8-3) and Fliegner and Haig had an 8-4 win over their opponents from Binghamton.

Women’s TennisBig Green Takes 4 From BC

New Haven, Conn. — Dartmouth women’s tennis team took on Boston College, winning one doubles match and three singles matches, on the second day of the Bulldog Invitational hosted by Yale.

The Big Green duo of Jacqueline Crawford and Allison McCann won, 7-5, before Crawford won in singles, 7-5, 6-2. The Big Green senior has won all four of her matches this weekend. McCann also followed up her doubles win with a 6-3, 6-3 victory.

Freshman Racquel Lyn picked up Dartmouth’s third singles win with a 6-2, 6-2 win.

Chargers Take Title

Castleton, Vt. — Colby-Sawyer earned its fifth consecutive North Eastern Athletic Conference East Division Women’s Tennis Championship title, defeating Husson 5-0 in the championship match at Castleton Tennis Courts.

The Chargers (12-1) will face the NEAC West Division champion in the spring for the crossover championship. The winner of that match will earn the league’s automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Tournament.

The Chargers’ Ashley Woodside was named MVP of the tournament, while teammates Christine Hill and Evelyn Miller joined her on the All-Tournament Team.

Women’s VolleyballBrown 3, Dartmouth 1

Providence, r.i. — Dartmouth (6-9, 0-5 Ivy) feel to Brown (4-11, 2-3) to remain winless in Ivy play. Game scores were 11-25, 19-25, 25-21, 16-25).

Dartmouth senior Kaira Lujan had nine kills, while freshman Corinne Cox had a team-leading 13 assists, two service aces and .500 hitting percentage. Senior Danielle Glinka had 17 digs to lead the team.

Next weekend, Dartmouth will play at home for the first time in three weeks, facing Cornell and Columbia next Friday and Saturday.

Chargers Drop 2

New London — Colby-Sawyer dropped a pair of 3-0 matches at Saturday’s home tri-match with UMass Boston and Coast Guard.

Colby-Sawyer (5-17) will begin a stretch of five road matches on Wednesday against undefeated Johnson & Wales.
