Alexa Schneck scored the contest’s only goal with 12:26 left in double overtime. Dartmouth freshman goaltender Emma Plumb nearly produced the shutout, making 10 saves, before Schneck’s turnaround drive from the top of the scoring circle got past the netminder’s outstretched right leg.
“I’m extremely proud of our team and how they competed today,” head coach Amy Fowler said afterward. “We created some great chances to finish the game and, honestly, that is where we fell short. Our team defense was gritty, and we did a better job in our deep defensive end.”
Dartmouth’s next test is a big one: a trip to undefeated and top-ranked Connecticut on Sunday. The Big Green is now 3-7 overall and 0-3 in the Ivies.

Senior Emily Astarita had eight kills and two of Dartmouth’s five aces on the night. Sophomore Sierra Lyle posted nine digs to lead the defense.
Dartmouth returns to the court this evening at Brown.

Jacqueline Crawford and Chuyang Guan earned one of Dartmouth’s doubles wins, with Allison Chuang and Raquel Lyn taking the other. Taylor Ng and Allison McCann joined Crawford, Lyn and Guan with singles victories.

Max Fliegner and David Horneffer in draw one, with teammates Diego Pedraza and Mat Schmidt winning in straight sets in the second draw.
Eddie Grabill won in a second-set walkover in draw three for Dartmouth, and Joey Haig added one last victory for the Big Green in draw five.
The tournament, Dartmouth’s only home event for three months, includes players from Amherst, Binghamton, Brown and Yale and continues through Sunday.

The Big Green shot a school-record 6-over-par 290 as a team to take a lead over the 14 schools that were able to post four 18-hole rounds before darkness suspended play.
Calbi and Nelson are tied for fifth place in the clubhouse. Calbi never dropped below par all day, posting three birdies. Nelson dropped two shots to par with a pair of early bogeys but rebounded with four birides against one bogey the rest of the way.
Junior Isabelle Kane (T-23rd, 74) and sophomre Hana Bradshaw (T-37th, 76) accounted for Dartmouth’s other rounds. The tournament continues today with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
