Dieffenbach, a senior, knocked in a corner kick Thursday for the winning goal in the Woodstock Union High girls soccer team’s 2-0 victory at Springfield. It was Dieffenbach’s fifth goal in three games and her fourth off a restart in that span.
Woodstock (5-4) is above .500 for the first time since an opening-day triumph at Oxbow. Wasps freshman Audrey Eggum added her first varsity goal, assisted by Rosalie Geiger, to close the scoring and stretch her team’s winning streak to three.
Brittney Poljacik made 13 saves for Woodstock, which forced Springfield’s Mykahla Jasinski to stop 15 shots. Wasps coach Greg LaBella also recognized Annabelle Lessard, McKenzie Dalton, Hannah Milstone and Emma Maiden for strong efforts.
The teams meet again Tuesday in Woodstock.
Rochester, Vt.
Sunapee
Maddie Austin also scored for Sunapee, which hosts Pittsfield on Saturday.

Suzy Bazzell scored in the 25th minute and Sarah Britton added the second-half strike for Woodsville, which hosts Lisbon on Tuesday.

Will Palin made six saves for the Lakers, who host Pittsfield on Saturday.

“We’re still having fun,” said Oxbow coach Barry Emerson, whose team visits Hazen (4-2-1) on Tuesday. “We played hard.”
Rochester, Vt.
Liam Walker added a goal and an assist while Ambrose Wigglesworth, Colby Washburn, Nick Rowe and Danny Abrue added assists. It was the first goal of the year for Abrue, a junior varsity call-up.
Another JV call-up, goalie Allister Wigglesworth, made seven saves while playing the second half for Whitchester. Marcus Sheldon, Kevin Kingsbury and Dan Labejsza added assists for the Mountaineers, who play their third game in four days against Black River in Rochester today.
Lincoln, n.h.
Antonio Houde scored four goals and Alex Enderson and Sam Pushee each had two goals and two assists for Woodsville. Jason Turner added a pair of goals, Adam Catldo had three assists and Garrett Olsen and Connor Maccini had a goal and an assist each.
Wyatt Rodger assisted twice and Brandon Brown once for the Engineers, who host Lisbon on Tuesday.
Hanover
All eight of Hanover’s golfers were seniors during its senior day match, the first time Marauders coach John Donnelly has been able to employ that many during his 14-year tenure. Brian Seltzer led the hosts with a four-over-par 38, two strokes behind medallist Joel Boulanger of Coe-Brown.
Grant Morhun (40), Finn Higgins (40), Jack Brendel (43), Finn Hackett (44), Rainier Nahabedian (44), Brian Boitnott (50) and Christopher Sundaram (53) followed for Hanover.
Randolph
Emily Jasmin (three kills, seven assists), Taylor Paquette (two kills, three aces) and Rachel Seale (six kills) played well for the Eagles (2-6), who host St. Johnsbury on Tuesday.
Sunapee
Abi Downey and Lexi Miller had four aces each for Sunapee and teammate Elsa Pierson had three aces and seven kills. The Lakers’ Hannah Drummond had seven kills and Meg Frederick five. Sunapee hosts Mascenic on Wednesday; Mascoma visits Belmont on Saturday.
Hanover
The teams were each ranked eighth in the previous bi-weekly poll. The Big Green jumped five spots to third in the co-ed rankings with 276 points.
Yale sits atop the rankings with 337, while Boston College is second with 301.
The Big Green women improved from eighth to seventh with 206 points.
Dartmouth returns to the water this weekend with multiple events, including the Hewitt Trophy in on Mascoma Lake.
