“We were very fortunate to escape with a win,” said TSA coach Blake Fabrikant, whose team is 4-0 and visits Rivendell on Saturday. “We were thoroughly outplayed but I’m happy with our resolve and hope the last few minutes are indicative of what we’re capable of doing.”
Sharon trailed 1-0 at intermission and 2-0 with six minutes to play in the second half. That’s when Grace Dorman converted a Lloyd crossing pass. Two minutes later, Maya Johnstone won a midfield ball and fed Eleanor Frost at the top of the box, from where she tied the score.
“We’ve had a soft schedule to this point so we didn’t match their intensity,” Fabrikant said. “They were quicker to the ball, more aggressive and definitely more ready to play than we were.
“Once we had the momentum, though, we dominated overtime.”
Abby Levy made seven saves for Sharon, which also received a standout defensive performance from Lily Crowley.
