Calgary, Alberta — Dartmouth women’s hockey head coach Laura Schuler again will serve as the head coach of the Canadian national women’s team for the 2016-17 season, in addition to her duties with the Big Green.

Schuler also served in the same capacity during the 2015-16 season.

Additionally, she was the head coach of Canada’s national women’s under-18 team that won gold at the 2014 IIHF Women’s World Championship and claimed gold at the same event in 2013 as an assistant coach.

Canada takes to the ice at its Fall Festival on Sept. 11-18 in Calgary. The event serves as an important evaluation opportunity prior to selecting the teams that will represent Canada at the 2016 Four Nations Cup in Vierumaki, Finland, Nov. 1-5 and the 2017 IIHF Women’s World Championship in Plymouth, Mich., March 31-April 7, 2017.

Schuler was named the Dartmouth’s ninth all-time head coach in April and will begin her first season at the helm of the Big Green team in an exhibition game against McGill on Oct. 16 at Thompson Arena.
