Foxborough, Mass. — Ethan Finlay and Federico Higuain scored and the Columbus Crew beat the New England Revolution, 2-0, on Saturday night to snap a 10-game winless streak.

Finlay tapped home a right-footer from inside the 6-yard box in the eighth minute. Hector Jimenez started a counterattack with a long feed to a streaking Justin Meram, who beat a defender and then played a left-footed cross to Finlay for a 1-0 lead. It was fourth goal of the season for Finlay, who scored 23 in 2014 and 2015 combined.

Higuain blasted a shot, from near the spot, into the net in the 49th. Ola Kamara had a takeaway from London Woodberry on the left flank, and then dropped a sliding feed between two defenders to a streaking Higuain.

Steve Clark had three saves for Columbus (4-8-11). He had allowed 16 goals in the last seven matches. New England (6-11-8) has lost four in a row.

GolfKim Extends PGA Lead

Greensboro, n.c. — Si Woo Kim followed his tournament-record 10-under 60 with a third-round 64 to increase his lead to four strokes in the Wyndham Championship.

The 21-year-old South Korean player had an 18-under 192 total at Sedgefield, a stroke off the tournament 54-hole record set by Carl Pettersson in his 2008 victory.

Kim is in contention for his first PGA Tour victory for the second time in a month after losing a playoff to Aaron Baddeley in Alabama in the Barbasol Championship.

After making an eagle and eight birdies Friday, Kim played the front nine in 3-under 35 on Saturday with four birdies and a bogey. He added birdies on the par-4 13th, par-5 15th and par-4 18th.

Rafa Cabrera Bello was second after a 65 in the PGA Tour’s regular-season finale. The Spaniard was fifth last week in the Rio Olympics.

U.S. Amateur Final Set

Bloomfield Hills, Mich. — Australia’s Curtis Luck birdied the third playoff hole to beat Michigan sophomore Nick Carlson in the U.S. Amateur semifinals.

Luck will face Oklahoma sophomore Brad Dalke in the 36-hole final at Oakland Hills. Dalke beat Southern California junior Jonah Texeira 3 and 2.

Carlson was 1 up when his drive on No. 18 ended up under a tree. Luck needed only a bogey to take that hole and square the match. The playoff began on No. 10. Both players parred that hole and birdied No. 11 before Luck was able to reach the green in two on the par-5 12th. Carlson missed a putt for birdie from about 20 feet, ending the match.

Preseason NFLBills 21, Giants 0

Orchard Park, n.y. — Quarterback Tyrod Taylor and the “Bad News” Buffalo Bills overcame another series of preseason distractions to beat New York.

Taylor zipped a 13-yard touchdown pass over the middle to LeSean McCoy to cap his fourth and final series. Backup EJ Manuel then secured the win by leading two touchdown drives on an afternoon that began with Buffalo cutting backup running back Karlos Williams and announcing defensive tackle Marcell Dareus was entering a rehabilitation clinic.

The Bills gave up on Williams, who reported to training camp out of shape and was also suspended by the NFL for violating the league’s substance abuse policy.

Panthers 26, Titans 16

Nashville, Tenn. — Cam Newton threw for 162 yards and led scoring drives on two of his four series Saturday and Carolina defeated Tennessee.

The game was delayed about 30 minutes because of lightning late in the third quarter.

Newton went 8-of-12 before leaving midway through the second quarter. He opened the game by leading a 93-yard drive that included a 61-yard reception to Ted Ginn Jr.

Ginn caught Newton’s pass about 10 yards downfield. Antwon Blake missed a tackle as soon as the catch was made, then the 31-year-old Ginn outraced the other Titans to the end zone.
