Sunapee, N.H. —
After graduating from Towle High School in Newport, N.H., Everett went on to receive a B.A. in Business from the University of New Hampshire, Durham in 1971. In 1976 Everett married Robin Farquhar, and they lived almost all their years together in Sunapee. Everett had a long and distinguished career in the building and design profession throughout the Dartmouth Lake Sunapee region. In 1987 he founded Northcape Design, Inc., growing the company into what it is today, one of the most respected and successful design/build firms in the State.
For many years Everett took part in the National Association of Homebuilders networking program, Builder 20. As a long-time member of the Cornerstones Group, he traveled twice a year to visit and learn from fellow building professionals across the country. Often the meetings were followed by road trips in the surrounding area, and Everett and Robin eventually traveled and stayed in all the 50 states together. Everett was an avid skier, enjoyed hiking in the White Mountains and spending time on Lake Sunapee. He was active and involved in the fabric of our local community, contributing his expertise and countless hours to committees and causes he believed in. Everett was responsible for the construction of the new Sunapee Welcome Center, generously donating the timberframe structure, completing the design and coordinating the efforts of local contractors involved with the project. He leaves behind a multitude of clients, colleagues, good friends and his loving family, all of whom will miss his creativity, knowledge, sense of humor and integrity.
He was predeceased by his parents and a sister, Beverly Pollard Monahan. Members of his family surviving include his wife of 40 years, Robin Pollard; a sister and her husband, Cynthia and Arthur G. Rand of Grantham; a brother-in-law, Charles Monahan of Grantham; a sister, Nancy Pollard of Keene, N.H.; and many beloved nieces, nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.
A future memorial gathering will be held in September.
