Shell, adoptable from the Sullivan County Humane Society
“I am 5-year-old Shell. I was found as a stray when I was very pregnant. Shortly after, I gave birth to my two boys, Exxon and Sunoco. I was a very good mom and my boys were able to find wonderful homes — and now I want one too!
“I am vet checked, spayed, vaccinated for rabies and distemper, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped and FIV/FeLV negative.”
Shell is up for adoption from Sullivan County Humane Society, located at 145 Broad St. in Claremont. Please see hours on the humane society website at www.sullivancountyhumanesociety.org and Facebook. Call 603-542-3277 or email sullivanhumane@hotmail.com.

Popcorn and Crunch, adoptable from the Upper Valley Humane Society
“Looking for some acrobatic cat entertainment? Well, here we are!
“Our names are Popcorn and Crunch, and we are quite the dynamic cat duo. We love to be active. Anything from jumping and climbing to sometimes even flying! We’re always on the go, and spend a lot of our time playing. We need a home that can keep up with our poppin’ lifestyle, and also provide some good behavioral structure for us as well.
“We’d like a home that’s energetic, cat savvy, free of other pets, and would be open to the idea of having two indoor/outdoor cats. If you’d like two bursting balls of energy, come see us today. We are available as a 2-for-1 adoption special.”
Popcorn and Crunch are up for adoption from the Upper Valley Humane Society, located at 300 Old Route 10 in Enfield and open to the public Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. The Upper Valley Humane Society is also on Facebook and Instagram and can be reached at 603-448-6888.
Tina Mary, adoptable from River Valley Animal Protection League
Tina Mary came in as part of a trap-neuter-release project intended to remove a litter of feral kittens and neuter any adults we trapped at the location. Tina was the only adult. As it turned out, she isn’t feral at all. In fact she is very friendly and affectionate, so we had her spayed, kept her for the usual 14-day stray hold, and she is now available for adoption.
When anyone opens her cage she often will knead her paws in place, like a member of a marching band. She is so confident and friendly that Tina Mary doesn’t just hold her tail high, she holds it forward in an enthusiastic greeting. During her roaming time at the shelter she likes to follow volunteers around quietly, just in case they might decide to take a break to pet her. What a surprise, when we were expecting a scared, avoidant feral kitty.
Tina will definitely be a great pet and make someone (or someones) very happy.
Tina is also very beautiful, though photos don’t show it well. She is a pretty un-photogenic cat. Her beauty is most apparent in person.
As it stands now, Tina will do best as an only cat. We are working to see if she might be able to adjust to the company of other cats.
Tina Mary is up for adoption from the River Valley Animal Protection League, located at 60 Cummings Ave. in Charlestown and open to the public Mondays, 4-7 p.m., and Saturdays, 1-4 p.m., or by appointment by calling 603-826-3061. The River Valley Animal Protection League is also on Facebook.
Dawn, adoptable from Lucy Mackenzie Humane Society
“Hi! I’m Dawn and I’m a 1-year-old spayed female. A really nice lady helped me out when she found me living on her property and made sure I made it safely to Lucy Mackenzie.
“I’m not a lap cat, but I’m a gentle, lovely feline and a really great companion for other kitties. I love my kitty friends and try to befriend every new cat I meet!
“In my own time, I warm up to people and just need a home of my own and somebody that will accept me for me. If you have space in your home and heart for little old me (and a cat or two that could use an adorable little companion), stop in and meet me today!”
Dawn is up for adoption from Lucy Mackenzie Humane Society, located at 4832 Route 44 in West Windsor and open to the public Tuesday through Saturday, 12-4 p.m. Lucy Mackenzie is also on Facebook and Twitter and can be reached at 802-484-5829.
