Mooresville, N.C. —
He was born on March 6, 1933, in Enfield Center, N.H., to the late Clinton and Elizabeth Westcott Chase. Mr. Chase went to work at CRREL in 1962 and he continued to work there until his retirement in 1992. After that time he went into partnership with his brother, Richard, in the operating of the family business Chase’s Auto Salvage, Inc. in Enfield Center. He was a US Army veteran serving in the Korean Conflict. David enjoyed collecting antique cars and clocks.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Rachel “Betty” Brown.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Joan Racicot Chase; daughters, Karen Lynaugh and husband, Paul, Jeanne MacInnes and husband, Bradley; sister, Shirley Ayers; brothers, Clinton Chase, Jr., Richard Chase; grandchildren, Jade Kernes (Colin), Cailee McKeown, Cole Miller, Rydge MacInnes; great-grandchildren, Haven and Evan Kernes; and several nieces and nephews in New Hampshire.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 8 at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home Chapel, Mooresville, N.C. Burial will be in Lebanon, N.H., at a later date.
