Jantzen, who spent three of his 26 years at the hospital system as COO, will replace Robin Kilfeather-Mackey this month, a news release said. The departing CFO plans to pursue a degree in environmental science.
“Dan Jantzen is uniquely qualified to lead the increasingly complex financial functions of this $1.9 billion enterprise,” President and CEO James Weinstein said in the release. “Navigating today’s health care environment, with multiple payers, numerous payment models, changing regulations, and challenges at the state and federal level, requires deep knowledge and a thorough understanding of all aspects of the health system and its path to the future. Having served as CFO and then diving deeply into operations for six years, Dan is a perfect choice for this critical role.”
The release did not disclose Jantzen’s compensation package, but Kilfeather-Mackey made $735,000 last year, according to the hospital system’s tax returns.
Jantzen, who led the hospital’s finance department for 17 years, has spent all but eight years of his career in the Dartmouth-Hitchcock system, according to his LinkedIn profile. Before that, he worked in Boston at KPMG, a professional services company.
