Washington — Claremont native and former University of Arizona center Kaleb Tarczewski agreed to a contract with the Washington Wizards and will participate in the team’s NBA summer league, according to multiple reports.

The 7-foot Tarczewski was not selected in the NBA draft following an injury-riddled senior season at Arizona, where he averaged 9.4 points and 9.3 rebounds per game as a senior last season.

Castleton, Vt. — New Hampshire scored on its first three shots on goal and four of its last six to roll past Vermont 8-1 in the 33rd Annual New Hampshire/Vermont Twin State Field Hockey Classic on Friday at Spartan Stadium.

Berlin’s Jensyn Dandeneau pumped in three goals and spearheaded a strong New Hampshire attack that featured six different goal scorers and six different players garnering assists.

Lebanon’s Elle Brine and Kendra MacDonald were on New Hampshire’s roster, while Hartford’s Morgan Hornet represented Vermont.

Vermont trailed 7-0, but finally got on the board with just 7:20 remaining as Middlebury’s Makaula Foster of pushed hard in the circle and tallied. Danielle Blanchard of Mount Abraham dished up the assist.

Lebanon — Post 22 led 4-0 after an inning and didn’t let up, improving to 3-1.

Starter Kyle Pelletier allowed three hits and no runs in four innings, striking out three batters and walking none at Lebanon High.

Andrew Hadlock had a double and a triple, Eli Jaynes had a single and a double, Kyle Hammond had a triple and Derrick Stanhope and Seanon May each had a pair of singles.

Lebanon hosts Alton today at 11 a.m., a foe with which it split a doubleheader earlier this month. That’s followed by the Post 22 senior team hosting Bedford at 2 p.m.

Weare, n.h. — White River Junction Post 84 was doubled by Weare. Post 84’s Brady Clark, of Springfield, had a double and two walks. Pitcher Walker Farley allowed five earned runs on four hits and four walks.

Manchester — Monadnock Region (2-0) moved to the top of the Granite State Games round-robin standings with Friday’s win on the Southern New Hampshire University turf. Coastal and Lakes are both 1-1; Southern is 0-2.

Luke Sandmann (Lebanon High) opened the scoring in the 12th minute, and goals from Noah Spaulding (Stevens), Tucker Stegner (Mascoma) and Ethan Sweet (Stevens) made it 4-0 at the half.

After the break Stegner, Julian Stott (Lebanon), Spaulding and Sam Strohbehn (Hanover) added single tallies to account for the 8-0 final.

Monadnock scored four goals in each half, and all three goalkeepers played: Hanover’s Pat Logan played the first half, and Lebanon’s Davis Cole and Erik Spaulding split the second half.

Owen Johnstone, Noah Didehbani, Graham Chickering (all from Lebanon) and Strohbehn added assists.

Monadnock meets Coastal in the final game of group play this morning, and with a plus-16 goal differential through two games is in great shape to advance to this afternoon’s title game.
