Grand Rapids, Mich. — The Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League announced Wednesday that they signed former Dartmouth College standout Jack Barre to a standard player’s contract for the 2016-17 season.

Barre is coming off his best season as a four-year member of the Big Green. The Fairfield, Conn., native was tabbed as the team’s MVP this season in addition to earning a spot on the All-Ivy League first team.

Barre led all Big Green players in goals (12), points (26) and plus-minus (+18), while also sharing the lead in assists (14). For his career, Barre played in 108 games, totaling 19 goals, 30 assists and 49 points.

The Griffins are the AHL affiliate of the Detroit Red Wings.

Manchester — Lebanon High’s Luke Sandmann had a hat trick as the Monadnock Region team rolled past Lakes Region in the Granite State Games at Southern New Hampshire University.

Noah Spaulding (Stevens) and Sam Strohbehn (Hanover) scored two goals apiece, with Spaulding adding two assists. Julian Stock (Lebanon) and Ethan Sweet (Stevens) also scored for Monadnock.

Davis Cole (Lebanon), Patrick Logan (Hanover) and Erik Spaulding (Lebanon) split time in goal for Monadnock, which plays the Southern Region team today at SNHU.

Plainfield — Lebanon Wilson Tire won its first New Hampshire Soccer Conference match of the season.

Megan Gradijan netted two goals Allison Carl one, while goalie Caroline Borger made 12 saves.

LWT’s next game is on July 8th, when it hosts Hartford Soccer Club.

Goffstown, n.h. — Andrew Houde was 3-for-5 with a three-run home run and earned the win on the mound as Lebanon Post 22 (3-2) defeated Goffstown.

Matt Braley also had three hits for Lebanon, while Chase Hussey (two doubles), Nate Perkins (two runs) and Caleb Broughton added two hits each. Post 22 greets Bedford on Saturday.

White River Junction — Wyatt Connor pitched a complete game as White River Junction Post 84 shut out Bellows Falls.

Wyatt Connor allowed three hits, walked one and struck out seven,

Steve Cerrone had a triple among his three hits for Post 84, which is now 4-3 overall and 2-0 in league play. Jordy Allard had two hits and two runs, Tyler Hamilton added two hits and Eddie White walked twice and drove home a run.

Post 84 heads to Rutland Saturday for a twin bill.
