Hanover Center— Volunteers are needed to help with the Hanover Center Old Timers’ Fair, set for June 24, from 5-10 p.m., and June 25, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Tasks include setting up the event in advance, helping with activities during the fair, and cleaning up on June 25 and 26.

It’s hard work, but “we try to make it fun,” said Jeff Balch, one of the organizers. Usually about 30 volunteers pitch in, and many come back year after year.

Now in its 55th year, the fair is held on the old parade ground, on Parade Ground Road. It features live music, food, crafts and games, along with an oxen pull, auction, bouncy house, book sale and parade. Proceeds benefit the First Congregational Church of Hanover.

Donations are being accepted for the book sale, white elephant sale and auction. Call 603-643-2618.

For more information about volunteering, contact Balch at jb.balch@valley.net or 603-443-0950, or go to tinyurl.com/j7ah9y4.
