The Oklahoma City point guard said Friday that he decided not to play after talking with his family. He didn’t give a reason for pulling out in his statement released through the Thunder.
Westbrook, a first-team All-NBA selection, won gold medals with the U.S. in the 2012 Olympics and 2010 world basketball championship.
His withdrawal came days after MVP Stephen Curry also said he wouldn’t play.
