Groton, Vt. — Sarah Elizabeth Colby, 35, of Goodfellow Road, went to be with her Savior on Thursday, June 2, 2016, following an intense battle with cancer. Sarah passed while surrounded by family and overlooking the ocean at Old Orchard Beach, fulfilling one of her final wishes.

Sarah was born in Berlin, Vt. on Dec. 14, 1980, to Sewell Frost and Patsy (Daniels) Frost. At the age of five, Sarah believed in Jesus Christ as her Savior. From that point on, her relationship with and love for the Lord guided every portion of her life. She was homeschooled by her mother and received her diploma from Christian Liberty Academy in 1998. In 2003, she received a bachelor’s degree from Pensacola Christian College in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Music.

Sarah worked her earlier years as a teacher. She set her career aside to become a stay at home mom, to take care of her daughters and husband, and to raise a family. Sarah and Curtis were married and became a family, along with Sarah’s daughter Isabella, on Feb. 25, 2012. Since then, God has blessed them with two daughters, Elaina and Arianna, along with a son named Owen, who went from his mother’s womb to the hands of Jesus in March of 2016.

Sarah was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Berlin, Vt., where she played a key role as a church pianist while also being active in various children’s ministries. Sarah was a homemaker, teacher, and musician; but she devoted her greatest passion and interest into her husband and children.

Sarah was predeceased by her son, Owen; and grandfather, Vern Frost Jr.

Sarah is survived by her husband of four years, Curtis Colby; three daughters, Isabella Austin-Shortt, Elaina Colby and Arianna Colby; her parents, Sewell and Patsy Frost; three brothers, Joshua Frost (Elisabeth), Dan Frost (Brianna), and Aaron Frost (Elizabeth); her father and mother-in-law, Richard Colby (Judy); a brother-in-law, Chris Colby (Rachel); her maternal grandparents, Lawrence and Alice Daniels; her paternal grandmother, Madelyn Frost; nieces and nephews, Noah, Olivia, Anderson, Jazmyne, Chloe and Ileana; Sarah is also survived by many uncles, aunts and cousins.

We would like to encourage everyone who has a story or memory of Sarah to please write it down and bring that with you to the calling hours or funeral for us to share later. We understand that Sarah is a special person, who impacted many people; and we would like to share your stories, along with our own, as we talk with the girls about their mommy every day.
