Orange, N.H. — Barbara M. Smith, 79, passed away Sunday, May 22, 2016, at Pine Rock Manor, Warner, N.H. She was born in Ridgewood, N.J. on March 6, 1937, the daughter of Spencer and Susan (Dzekosky) Muns. Raised in Uniondale, Long Island, N.Y., she graduated from Ridgewood High School in New Jersey, and attended the University of Connecticut. She was married to Stuart A. Smith for 59 years and lived in Orange for over 30 years.

Barbara had been employed at Dartmouth College, and was active for many years in real estate, family farming, the creation of whimsical folk art, and the sale of antique furniture. Barbara also volunteered her services to the Board of Elections in the Town of Orange, and will be remembered as a loving mother and wife and cherished for the compassion and kindness she showed toward others.

She is survived by daughters, Debrah Dingee and her husband, Robert (Michael), and Karen Clough and her husband Tim; grandchildren, Lauren Ludwig, Carlyn Dula, and Shaun Dula; great-grandchildren, Owen and Teagan Bailey; and brother, Daniel Muns and his wife, Patricia. Barbara was predeceased by her husband Stuart, and a son, Dennis Arthur Smith.
