Woodsville
Prest struck out five and walked just two in a complete-game effort. Woodsville scored a run in the third inning and two insurance runs in the sixth.
“It’s exciting to see a sophomore gaining so much each time she’s out there,” Woodsville coach Dana Huntington said. “You can see that experience coming, see her confidence growing. She’s pitching through those innings where she doesn’t have pinpoint control and improving almost every game she starts.”
Gabrielle Taylor had a double, a single and an RBI for the Engineers (6-3). Rainie May was 2-for-3. Blue Mountain starter Morgan Sulham took a tough-luck loss despite limiting the Woodsville bats for most of the afternoon.
“(Sulham) was tough; she mixed things up and kept us off-balance most of the day,” Huntington said. “There wasn’t a lot of hitting involved today. It was a well-played game defensively, a good battle between rivals.”
Woodsville has now won four of its last five games and visits Profile on Monday.

Hartford built the lead thanks to a 2-for-4, two-RBI afternoon from Hunter Perkins and a three-hit Brandon Gaudet performance. Gaudet delivered a two-run hit in the top of the seventh that gave the visitors just enough of a cushion.
Perkins got the win, going five innings on one hit and three walks. Jordy Allard threw a two-inning save, allowing three hits and fanning four.
“It’s always a tough place to play,” Grassi said. “When you go to town there and take a victory from them, it’s great. I’m more than pleased with how we prepared for and played that game.”
