Thetford, Vt. — Bernard Hazlett, 83, of East Thetford died Wednesday, April 27, 2016, at Lebanon Genesis in Lebanon, N.H.

Bernard was born in Thetford, Vermont the son of Joseph Hazlett and Isabell Davenport Hazlett.

Bernie served our country as a medic in the Korean War for the United States Army. After a serious logging accident he held various jobs and in his retirement he enjoyed working at Cedar Circle Farm in Thetford.

He enjoyed hunting and playing golf in his younger days. He loved the Red Sox, a good game of cribbage and the many pets he had over the years.

He is survived by one daughter, Bambi Porter and her husband, Almon of Port Tobacco, Md.; and one son, Bernard Hazlett and his wife, Tammie of Thetford Center; along with five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ester Braley of Lebanon, N.H. He is predeceased by brothers, Robert and Kenneth.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 3, 2016, at 11 a.m. at the Hale Funeral Home, Rte 113, Thetford Center. There are no calling hours. Burial will be private.
