Lebanon — Sue Gurnee and John C. Porter were married on Feb. 26, 2016, at Trinity Baptist Church in Concord, N.H.

Dr. Chuck Phelps and Pastor Joe Bolduc officiated at the ceremony. Mary Gurnee Kerr was the matron of honor. Joan Murray and Anna Gurnee were the bridesmaids. Norman Porter was the best man. Ralph Odell and Mark Brookhart were the groomsmen. The bride’s granddaughter, Eva Kerr, was the flower girl and the bride’s grandson, Cameron Kerr, was the “bell ringer.” 

The bride and bridegroom had each lost their spouses and were friends as couples for many years. The organ was played by Suzanne Woetzel and Kurt Woetzel sang a solo. A reception followed at the Trinity Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.

The bride is the daughter of the late Phyllis F. and William E. Sanborn, formerly of Deerfield, N.H. She graduated from Pembroke Academy in Pembroke, N.H., in 1970 and earned an associate degree in architectural engineering from New Hampshire Technical Institute in Concord in 1976. She is employed as an engineering tech for the N.H. Department of Transportation in Concord.

The bridegroom is the son of the late Doris M. and Clifton H. Porter, formerly of Lebanon. He graduated from Lebanon High School in 1967 and earned a bachelor’s degree in animal science from the University of New Hampshire in 1971. He earned a master’s degree in animal nutrition from Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y., in 1973 and is employed as a dairy specialist at the University of New Hampshire Cooperative Extension in Boscawen, N.H.

The couple honeymooned on a Caribbean cruise and live in Boscawen.
